They have my 2-year-old squealing in delight, “rabbit!, rabbit!” and I quickly snatched a photo before he grabbed the onigiri and gobbled it up. I didn’t get a chance to put a face on it!
The bread shapes he cut by himself - four rabbits from one slice of bread, and then quickly devoured those, too. We used the crusts to make bread-and-butter pudding. (Is that an Australian thing?)
For making onigiri rice shapes, they are incredibly easy to use. Just wet the mold and place on a flat plate. Fill the mold with rice, then press down with the push-lid. To eject your onigiri, pick up the mold and push it out with the push-lid.
Rabbit: 6cm tall x 4.2cm wide x 3cm deep (approx)
